How it works
There are 3 levels of qualification - Postgraduate Certificate (Pg Cert), Postgraduate Diploma (Pg Dip), and Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Local and Regional Economic Development.
You choose how far you wish to progress and at what pace you study, with up to 7 years allowed for moving through all three levels to complete the MSc.
Successfully completing the Postgraduate Certificate entitles you to membership of the Institute of Economic Development
The course is delivered via modules to make your study easy to plan and manage around your work, home, and other commitments. You can choose:
- When you want to study.
- The order in which you take modules.
- How many qualification levels you take.
At the start of each module you can attend a workshop - enabling you to meet your tutors, other students, and share your experience and questions with others. Comprehensive materials are supplied for each module, and access is provided to additional resources online together with support from the Academic Programme Manager.
Each Certificate module involves an examination with marks included from project assessments depending on the module content. Each Diploma module involves a coursework assignment. The MSc involves a 15,000 word dissertation.
